Voli – Glass Doors Sampler Tracks

Voli came up with the likes of Elite, J. Cole, Omen, so it only makes sense that the sampler for his Glass Doors project has joints produced by all of them (he’s also produced joints for all of them.) As Elite put it, he’s like the 4th member of their musical circle.

Says Elite:

What up! Real excited to introduce to ya’ll one of the most talented artists/producers I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Voli has been under the radar up until now, but always extremely active behind the scenes. Coming up alongside myself, J. Cole and Omen for the past 10+ years it’s been a continuous exercise in growth and creativity.

A couple of tracks to wet your appetite for the Wednesday release of Voli’s Sampler “Glass Doors” which will include production from Voli, Myself, J. Cole and Omen.

Below are a few tracks from the sampler dropping Wednesday.

He raps over J. Cole’s “Heartache” from The Warm Up and there’s one of his original songs under that. It contains the same sample as Wiz Khalifa’s “When U Find” off B.A.R., but I’d say with a better build-up.

Voli – Heartache Freestyle (prod. Elite)

Voli – Tripwire (prod. Voli)

J. Cole – It Won’t Be Long

Sermon just passed over new music from the kid from Fayettenam. Sounds like a possible album cut to me.

Video: J. Cole Answers 3 Quick Questions From LowKey

Our NMC brother LowKey caught up with J. Cole at Heineken’s Inspire Tour show in NYC last weekend.

In the first clip, he says the biggest misconception about him is his “backpacker-ness”.

After the jump, Cole answers whether The Warm Up will get a sequel and if he felt his “A Star Is Born” feature was more beneficial than being on the BP3 tour.

Bonus: J. Cole also talked to HoneyMag at the same event about the story behind “Lights Please”, “Grown Simba” vs. “Young Simba”, and more.

Video: J. Cole Addresses FSU Uproar Over “Who Dat” Video

J. Cole responds to Fayetteville State Univ. Chancellor Dr. Anderson’s condemnation of the “Who Dat” video.

Shortly after the video premiered, Dr. Anderson demanded that the video be pulled because FSU wasn’t aware of the song’s language when they signed off on their cheerleaders’ appearance.

Tough shit. That’s what you get for not doing your due diligence.

We’re in 2010 and people are still uptight about curses… seriously? These dinosaurs need to die off already.

RR got their hands on a J. Cole leak, no word if it’s on the album but this joint is too hard for it not to be.
